These monumental pedestals resemble giants nests, elevating their eggs high above the ground. They question the idea of “being up on a pedestal,” that is, being elevated for adoration while inadvertently isolated and confined. In their containment, the particular balance between new life promised by the egg form and decay implied by their porous, rusted surfaces, is held stagnant and alone.
